| My name is Matthew Chaulk and I attend Grade 9 at Lewisporte Academy in Lewisporte Newfoundland. I play the Alto Sax in the school Jazz Band and the Concert Band. Our Jazz Band recently won Gold at the Kiwanis Music Festival in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. I just returned from competing in the Regional High School Drama Festival where we competed against High School students. I played Skipper Joe Caines in a play called "Fish n Brewis". Our group was awarded the "Best Performance for a Future Ensemble". I placed in the top 25% in Canada and first in my school when I competed in the PASCAL Math Competition. I also placed in the top 25% in the Gauss Math competition in Grade 8. I attended the Regional Science Fair for the last three years and last year I won the Conservation Corps Award. This year I placed 1st in the Intermediate Division and I won a Gold Medal. My project was nominated for the Conservation Corps Award, which I won last year. I play hockey on the Jr. Lynx School team, and I play forward in the Bantam Division of Minor Hockey. |
