Biographie
Hello! I'm Katherine and I am in grade 7 at Stratford Central. I am hard-of-hearing, and a really good lip reader, which inspired my project. My previous competitive experience includes public speaking and recitation, dance, drama, creative writing and the Historica fair. My friends and I wrote and recorded a song for an environmental awareness competition. As winners, we had our song professionally recorded and included on a “real” CD. I am very involved at school, where I am a member of Student Council, the C.I.A., Environment Club, Yearbook Committee, Choir, Band, the school play, the school dance group, cross country, soccer and track & field. Outside of school, I am engaged in with many activities and events such as the Kiwanis festival, and volunteering throughout the community. My hobbies and interests include the environment, dance, drama, music, technology, robotics and spending time with friends. I am really looking forward to spending a week at the Ontario Educational Leadership Camp this summer. Later in life, I want to continue to help our government and the world become more environmentally aware by becoming a politically active performer or inventor.

Sommaire:This project is to help English speaking, hard-of–hearing lip readers and others who are required to study French as a second language. Using a variety of hardware and software, I created an audio/video bilingual dictionary focusing on how the mouth moves during pronunciation. To reduce packaging and waste associated with creating and marketing a CD, I made this an online, free and accessible project.
