Biography
I am a Grade 7 student at Charlie Lake Elementary School in Fort St. John, BC. I have made it to the Northern BC Regional Science Fair three times and this will be my first CWSF. Last year I won the BC Hydro Power Smart award and this year I won both the Enviro Expo award, and the Federation of B.C Naturalists Award. I enjoy all outdoor activities such as four-wheeling, snowmobiling, boating, hunting and fishing. In 2008, I traveled to Africa on a hunting safari which was an amazing experience. Playing fastball is a sport I enjoy and I have gone to provincials twice.

Abstract:The purpose of this project is to determine if the proposed Site C Dam on the Peace River would act as a carbon sink. I also studied if temperature variations and the presence of aquatic plants affect the absorption level of carbon dioxide. I also kept a close watch on the pH of the water. I determined that a river would absorb carbon dioxide faster.
