| Finding a Biomarker for Alzheimer's Disease
Division: | Life Sciences / None | Category: | Senior | Region: | | City: | , | School: | | Abstract: | Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) has been known to be down-regulated during the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). To ultimately determine if BDNF could be used as a biomarker for AD, the first step is to be able to detect BDNF in cerebrospinal fluid, which was the purpose of this research project. Main methods used included Western blotting and immunoprecipitations. |
