Biography
My interests include music where I am studying for my grade 4 exam in violin, and guitar where I am just starting to learn. This year I have been expanding my involvement in the arts: by developing different drawing techniques and by my involvement in two theatre productions. With regard to physical activity, I am trying various sports at my new school, as well as continuing to enjoy Highland Dancing at the premier competitive level. Last year I was selected to represent Nova Scotia in the Canadian Highland Dancing Championship Series, placing 5th Runner up in the City of Victoria Challenge.

Abstract:A solar powered cooker was designed, built, and tested based on a parabolic dish reflector. With a 60 cm diameter reflector area, a hot dog was heated to 66 °C in 22 minutes. The slow cooking rate was due to the poor focusing ability of the home-made reflector and the need to improve insulation.
