Biography
I am thirteen years old and in grade 7 at McGowan Park Elementary. My favorite sports are snowboarding, curling, volleyball and track and field. I play several instruments including flute and two types of drums. I have been involved in a Lego robot club and a 3-D print club at our local science center. I like designing and building things. I like to read and watch Dr. Who on TV. I am interested in doing science projects that can help the environment. Before I did this project I did not know how apps were made. I was excited that I learned how to write an app for my project, and hope it helps teach people about recycling plastic.

School:McGowan Park Elementary
Abstract:People who use plastic do not all recycle it, meaning it can end up in a landfill or cause environmental harm. The goal of my project was to help solve this problem by educating people. For my project I designed and created a smartphone mobile application, an app, to teach people what the resin code on plastic items means and if it can be recycled.
