Biographies
Erin - I was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on July 11th 1994, and have lived there ever since. I attend the Swift Current Comprehensive High School (SCCHS) and am in grade nine. I maintain an above 90 average. I have a real love for music, I have played piano for seven years and last year passed my grade six piano exam. I am in choir at my school and church. I have started learning guitar, which I enjoy quite a bit. I also have a love for sports. My favourite is volleyball; I was on the grade nine team at SCCHS this year. Another sport I enjoy is track and field, my favourite event being high jump. I also bowl, and made it to provincials earlier this year. Being very involved in my church I have actually led a few services there. As you can probably see I keep a very busy schedule, but still love to make extra time to hang out with friends, listen to music, or just relax. I am still undecided as to what I want to do after high school, even though pharmacy, psychology, architecture, and forensics are all careers that interest me.
Rachel - My name is Rachel Dueck and I was born 15 years ago in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. I lived there for two years with my parents and two older brothers. From there we went to Seminole, Texas for another two years where my parents worked as missionaries. We then moved to Leamington, Ontario and lived there for the next four years where I began school and started violin and piano lessons. Swift Current was our final move and I have lived here for the past six years. During that time I have excelled in sports such as volleyball, gymnastics, basketball and track. I have also done very well in the local music festival by winning special awards over the years. Science fair was also something I have enjoyed doing. Last year I even did well enough to go to the provincial showcase. I enjoy drawing, camping, reading, sports and going to new places. I plan to go to CMU when I graduate from high school and maybe even go on to get a job that deals with medical sciences.

Cinnamon Effects
Division:Life Sciences / None
Category:Intermediate
Region:Saskatchewan Chinook
City:Swift Current, SK
School:Swift Current Comprehensive High School
Abstract:This project tested the effects of cinnamon on killing mouth bacteria. We tested commercial products that were cinnamon flavoured to find out whether cinnamon products were effective. The cinnamon flavour didn't kill much bacteria so we tried again with natural products. Cinnamon and lemon were most effective in killing bacteria. We combined them to create our mouthwash which killed the most bacteria.
