Biography
I am currently in grade 7 and I have a twin brother Duncan. Duncan is also coming to the Canada Wide Science Fair. I have two younger twin brothers Sean and William who are aged 9. I love to play sports and I participate in rugby, soccer, cross country, track, swimming and skiing. My best strokes are breast stroke and back stroke for which I have been able to win a number of medals at our regional meets. Moguls are my favorite part of skiing! In the summer I really enjoy rock climbing. I play the piano and enjoy playing duets with my younger twin brother William. At school I play the trombone and I am part of the brass ensemble. My interests at school include public speaking where I have been lucky to win several awards.

Abstract:Government agencies recommend keeping an emergency preparedness kit to aid survival in natural disasters. This project developed and tested a new hat to be included in such a kit. Two simulated head models found the emergency preparedness hat outperformed other hats with regards to rates of heat loss. Think about including a hat in your kit – keeping warm can be a key to survival.
