Biography
My name is Neilloy Roy, I was born on February 13, 1992 at the St. Boniface Hospital. My parents are immigrants from East India. For the last eighteen years I have lived in the same house in Southern Winnipeg. I am currently attending my senior year Fort Richmond Collegiate. I enjoy the alternative rock genera, bands such as The Offspring, Nirvana and The Smashing Pumpkins. My favourite TV shows are Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: The Next Generation. When it’s not snowing in Winnipeg I like a taking jog around my neighbourhood. I volunteer at the Victoria General Hospital. In the fall of this year I will be attending the University of Manitoba. My ultimate goal is to one day be a professional in the Medical field.

Production of RNA to Investigate the Mechanism of Viral Replication
Division:Earth & Environmental Sciences
Category:Senior
Region:Manitoba Schools Science Symposium
City:Winnipeg, MB
School:Fort Richmond Collegiate
Abstract:The Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever Virus is predicted to rely on its molecular biology for replication. The DNA template of the RNA was designed and RNA was then transcribed off the DNA using T7 RNA polymerase followed by gel electrophoresis. Presence of RNA proves that this methodology is a viable way to produce this specific RNA for further studies towards rational development of therapeutic tools.
