Biographies
Lauren - My name is Lauren Levorson-Wong. I am a Grade 7 student at O.M. Irwin Middle Years School in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. I was born in Kingston, Ontario. I enjoy piano, guitar, clarinet, drama and swimming. I am working on my RCM Grade 5 piano. I placed First in three categories for clarinet in the Sask. Music Festival and received a scholarship for clarinet. This year I completed Bronze Medallion with the Royal Lifesaving Society. I was a member of Girl Guides for five years. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, making jewellery, writing poetry, and composing music. I hope to be a lifeguard in high school and a Music for Young Children teacher in university. I would like to pursue a career as a business consultant, an economist, a politician, or a teacher.
Kaitlin - Hi, my name is Kaitlin. I am in grade 7 and I participate at school in drama, SRC, outdoor education, yearbook, basketball and band. In community activities I participate in dance, and volunteer work. Outside of school, I take piano and guitar lessons. I love to read, knit, do needlework, play badminton and basketball, play music, camp and bike in the summer. I have won an over 90% average award, and the the awards for best marks in Languange Arts and Social Studies at my school's awards ceremony. I have also won an Agriculture in the Classroom award at the Regional Science Fair. I would like to become a landscape architect when I finish high school.

Sommaire:This project is an experiment about the effects of magnetism on seed germination. Magnetized seeds were compared to a control group for germination rate and seedling growth vigour. Magnetized seeds showed a 5% improved germination rate compared to non-magnetized seeds in the control group. The magnetized seeds grew faster, taller and were more developed compared to non-magnetized seeds.
