Biographie
I am Ishan Acharya, born in India in 1996 and immigrated to Canada in the year of 2001. My dad is a mechanical engineer and my mom takes care of me & my little sister who is seven. I am a vegetarian and speak 3 different languages, including English, Hindi and Gujarati (mother-tongue). This is my second year coming to CWSF. Last year, I went to CWSF Winnipeg with my project on wind turbines and enjoyed a lot! I currently go to Calvin Park Public School in the challenge program (grade 8), and will go to Frontenac Secondary next year for highschool. Science and math have always been my favourite subjects. At school, I participate in a band, where I play the flute! I have participated in tech and stage crew roles for shakespeare performances as well. I also love to play sports such as soccer and tennis, and participate in Lego Robotics. In community events, I have done some stage performances, once I played as Gandhi and another time I was George Bush! I would like to continue learning more about space activities and hope to work on something related to global issues in my career.

Solar Power - Make the Most of the Sun
Division:Sciences de la vie
Catégorie:Junior
Région:Frontenac, Lennox & Addington
Ville:Kingston, ON
École:Calvin Park P.S.
Sommaire:This project explores the concept of improving solar power efficiency, mainly by keeping them cooler and/or focusing extra light. To accomplish this, arrangements using mirrors and glasses were developed and compared. In conclusion, a solar panel in the sunlight with mirrors reflecting additional light was proven to increase the efficiency, although there are factors which can decide its application, based on location and usage.
