Biographie
My name is Konwanakeren Diabo and I am a sixteen-year-old student attending Kahnawake Survival School located in Kahnawake, Quebec. My hobbies include playing piano and baking. I am currently involved in a few extra-curricular activities including paddling and helping out at my local Canoe Club. I also enjoy volunteering at the Kahnawake figure skating club to coach younger children. I plan on going to college and university in hopes of pursuing a career in teaching. This will allow me to continue to work with children and pass down the knowledge that I will continue to gain. The inspiration for my project came from my desire to continue to preserve my culture through trying to increase the community’s use of the traditional cradleboard. With my added function the cradleboard becomes more practical to use and prolongs the use of the cradleboard. My advice for other students thinking about doing an innovative project is don’t be afraid to try your idea it could turn into something amazing.
