Biographie
Thomas is a grade eleven student at Semiahmoo Secondary in Surrey, B.C. He is currently enrolled in IB, a competitive program recognized by the international community. When he is not spending his time on schoolwork, Thomas is participating in various school clubs, such as debate, Model United Nations, Student Ventures, newspaper, and TechTeam. He plans to enroll in the field of medicine, and is considering both Canada and US universities. Thomas has a consistent 4.0 GPA throughout his high school career, and is at the top of his grade in math competitions such as CEMC. He has also attended various Skills Canada competitions in the past, once winning 1st place provincial in the Spaghetti Bridge contest. When not involved in high school activities, Thomas enjoys reading science and political articles on the Internet, playing strategy games, chatting with his friends, reading, playing clarinet, and playing ping-pong.

Road Salts: Destruction or Relocation

Sommaire:Road salts, especially sodium chloride, is detrimental to the environment when applied to snowy roads during the winter. In this project, chloride ions are measured from soil near salted roads one month after previous application, with consideration to side barriers that may reduce the amount of impact. The results proved negative for signficant traces of chloride ions no matter the test location.
