Division: | Earth & Environmental Sciences | Category: | Junior | Region: | York | City: | Markham, ON | School: | St. Patrick Catholic Elementary School | Abstract: | 81 marigolds in 3 rows (control, fertilizer, limestone) of 9 pots were watered with solutions of pH 3-11. Germination, height and number of leaves were recorded for 6 weeks. Optimal growth occurred at pH 5-7. Fertilizer improved growth. Limestone improved growth in acid soils. Neither prevented the effect of abnormal pH. |
