Biography
My name is Megan Schlorff. I am sixteen years old and I have lived in Hanover, Ontario all my life. I attend grade ten at Sacred Heart High School in Ontario where I am an honours student. I am a member of the school band where I play the clarinet and I am a member of the Environmental Committee on the Student Advisory Committee. I am also on the school's junior Reach for the Top team and placed second at the regional playoffs. Outside of school I enjoy step dancing and playing the piano. I have been dancing since I was four years old and I have been playing the piano since I was six. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends and I love curling up with a good book. I really enjoy the scrapbooking and photography because they allow me to express myself creatively. I also enjoy cooking, exercising, and applying "green" habits to my lifestyle. I have always had a passion for science and this science fair project is the seventh one that I have completed. I am currently interested pursuing a career in medicine particularly in the field of pediatrics or obstetrics.

Abstract:One thousand farmers were surveyed. Three percent of the participants spread sewage biosolids and over half had an Environmental Farm Plan. The influent and effluent of four wastewater treatment plants were analyzed for nitrate, E. coli, coliform bacteria and the personal care product compounds triclosan and triclocarban. It was concluded that wastewater treatment plants are not always effective at eliminating the concentration of these compounds.
