Biography
My name is Daniel Cheng and I live in Calgary. I go to F.E.Osborne, an average school. I was born in China, and before I was 5, I came to Canada. In Canada, I had learned a totally different culture, and it was hard to fit in. I guess I still haven’t been able to fit in, since I’m still being called weird and a nerd. Maybe I just am, but I can only try to be successful. I have participated in the Great Canadian Geography Challenge, the Scholastic Challenge, and the Gauss Mathematics Contest. I have many interests, such as sailing, model building, and Shogi (Japanese chess). I am looking forward to living in Canada and visiting its many historical landmarks.

Can Teachers Teach Better?
Division:Life Sciences / None
Category:Junior
Region:Calgary Youth
City:Calgary, AB
School:F. E. Osborne School
Abstract:This project examined different teaching methods (in use and unproven ones) and the effectiveness of each one. The most successful method was to teach others the learning, then have them practise the learning by doing, or immediately use the learning. This differs from standard lectures in high school and university, or fun and games that most elementary teachers try to incorporate.
