Biographies
Rebecca - My name is Rebecca Fisher, and I am currently 15 years old. I live in the town of Lumsden, Saskatchewan, and have for most of my life. In my spare time I love to dance, and do so competitively. The dances I am enrolled in are Jazz, Tap and Lyrical, all of which I am fortunate to be a part of. Also, I work part time and am proud to be a legitimate Subway Sandwich Artist. Whenever I have spare time I enjoy reading novels and have a love of books of any genre, going out with friends and heading outside on long walks or runs. One experience I have which I will never forget is a family trip to Fernie a few years back, where a break in the middle of a white water rafting journey led to a terrifying and exhilarating experience of cliff jumping. This memory will always stick with me, as I am petrified of heights. Overcoming that particular obstacle made me realize that I can really accomplish whatever I put my mind to, and also that some fears can only hold you back from having the time of your life.
Mikayla - My name is Mikayla Preete and I live on an acreage outside of Lumsden, Saskatchewan where I attend grade ten at Lumsden High School. After high school I intend to pursue a career in design. My hobbies include sports, music, art, travelling, watching old movies, and being with my friends. I play softball, basketball, and volleyball. I am also involved in my school's SRC, play the baritone saxophone in our senior jazz band, and take piano lessons. I have been fortunate to do alot of travelling in my life. In the past four years, I have travelled to Europe, Australia, and many times to the United States. I strongly enjoy the element of design and being creative, which I was able to implement in my Science Fair project. Becky Fisher and I won Best Overall Project at the Prairie Valley School Division Regional Science Fair, and I am very excited to be attending my first Canada Wide Science Fair this year.
