How Distractions Affect Student Efficiency

Abstract:This experiment examined how typical distractions (i.e., listening to music or TV) affect students’ efficiency on manual and mental tasks. I observed that students were less efficient when listening to the TV than with no distraction. A simple statistical test was used to support this conclusion.
