Abstract:In this study, the relationship between aquatic macroinvertebrates and substrate was examined. Four substrates were used: sand, gravel, mud, and rocks. We hypothesised that mud would have the greatest number of individuals and the greatest number of taxa. We found that there were the greatest number of taxa in mud, but the greatest number of individuals on the rocks because of the prevalence of caddisflies.
