Biography
My name is Melanie Lynn Renn and I'm 14 years old. I live in Yarmouth N.S where I'm attending YJHS as a grade 9 French Immersioin student. One of my interests is languages and I speak English, Spanish and French. Outside of school, I keep quite busy practicing some of my favourite hobbies like singing, dancing, swimming and playing music (piano, guitar, bass, flute). I'm very open-minded and love to try new things, such as foods, sports and experience new cultures when I travel. I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. Since an early age, I started participating in local talent competitions, Heritage Fairs and Science Fairs. In 2010, I won first place at my school science fair and placed in the top ten at regionals. I also won The Ultimate Dream job contest by the Learning Partnership, which gave me the opportunity to travel to Ottawa to meet the Prime Minister, Stephen Harper and The Honourable Peter Miliken. I recently won a silver medal as second best overall project and a "Taking Science to Market" award at the Tri-County Regional 2011 Science Fair, giving me the opportunity to move on to the CWSF.
