| My name is Vanessa McKay, I was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and I attend Golden Gate Middle School. I’m 13 years old, and I have one older sister and one younger sister, making me the middle child. I like watching TV, watching movies, and hanging out with friends. The one thing that I do the most is read. I love reading! I love The Harry Potter series, Twilight series, and The Hunger Games series, and I’ve read all of their books and watched all of their movies. Lately I’ve been acting in my school musical, and I find it really fun. I’ve done many science fairs before and I really like doing them. My favorite part of the whole thing is learning new things and then sharing it with other people. |

In my first two investigations I learned how to neutralize acid/acid rain solutions using an Alkaline Borate Mineral. The new knowledge I gained was then used to invent new home building products that will reduce the harmful effects of acid rain. Homeowners can now contribute to helping protect our environment. |
