Abstract:Taxus canadensis domestication was initiated using native Newfoundland sources. This shrub contains paclitaxel, a chemical used to treat cancer patients. Winter propagation by rooted cuttings was evaluated. Effects of genetic material, soil type, shoot age and length were analysed. Bud flush was examined as a predictor of future rooting success.
