Biography
I was born in BC, where I live with my parents, older sister, older brother and my dog. I am currently in grade 9 at Earl Marriott Secondary in the French immersion program. I am on my school’s basketball, volleyball and track field teams, and I also play volleyball outside of school. I really enjoy hanging out with my friends, listening to music and playing sports. I love the outdoors, especially BC’s views and landscapes. I can’t imagine living without the fresh air or a clean ocean, which is one of the reasons why I picked my topic for this year’s science fair project.

Which anti-fouling product is best?
Challenge:Environment
Category:Intermediate
Region:South Fraser
City:Surrey, BC
School:Earl Marriott Secondary
Abstract:This project aims to find an effective, but non-toxic anti-fouling product. Five commercial products were compared for their ability to inhibit growth on stationary substrates, and on a boat used for one summer in seawater. Toxicities were determined by observing their effects on brine shrimp hatching and the survival of hatched shrimps. Bottomkote XXX and Aurora Bottom Wax were the most effective and least toxic.
