Biography
Will found inspiration for developing a line Nomadic Furniture when he found himself helping his older brother move out for university. Whilst working to wedge a bulky desk into his brother's compact sedan (with little success), he saw great potential for a line of furniture optimized for easy transport. A physical desk unit was designed, constructed and evaluated to demonstrate the feasibility of the concept. To continue his investigations, Will hopes to fabricate full size, physical prototypes of the (currently) conceptual Nomadic Furniture units he has designed, as done with the example desk unit. When possible, he makes an effort to encourage younger students to each complete a science fair project, as he believes it leaves them with skills their academic and professional careers can benefit from. Will attends Beamsville District Secondary School as a grade 10 student. He maintains a background in design, manufacturing, science, photography, animation and music.

Abstract:The Nomadic Furniture project explores the creation of a portable line of student furniture optimized for post secondary students. A key factor with all of the numerous conceptual models made is that they are designed to quickly disassemble for packing/transport, reassembling just as fast upon their arrival. A physical desk unit was designed, constructed and evaluated to demonstrate the feasibility of the concept.
