Biography
I am a grade 7 student in Summerland, BC. I enjoy school and I am in French immersion and am looking forward to using my French in Fredericton. I like to play basketball, soccer, and swim at the beaches by my house as well as the Penticton Channel where I snorkle. This project was fun to do, because I got to pick the paintings I wanted which was a lot of fun to look through what my choices were. I seemed to like paintings from the impressionists most, but made sure to pick one other one, because there were so many choices.

An Eye For Colour: Digital Analysis of the Colour Palette in Artist's Paintings
Challenge:Discovery
Category:Junior
Region:Central Okanagan
City:Summerland, BC
School:Summerland Middle School
Abstract:I wondered what made famous paintings attractive. Does each artist have their own set of “go to” or signature colours? Red is an important biological colour and is often used by animals in visual displays, so I expected that all artists would use it similarly and it would not help me discriminate the artists from one another. I examine if this analysis could detect forgeries.
