Biography
Hi, I'm Amy. I attend Glenmary school in Peace River, AB. I want to become a doctor. I enjoy music and playing basketball. This year was my first science fair.My mom helped me pick a topic by telling me I can just test some useful everyday question like "I wonder if the grass will die if i drain the hot tub on it" I liked the idea so I ended up doing it.In my experiment I watered six patches of sod with different chemical water. I could also use tap water to further investigation or do the experiment on our lawn in summer. I also would like to come up with a way to recycle public pool water. Some advice to others would be to be organized and efficient right from the start. Start early!

Is the Grass Always Greener when the Water’s Cleaner?
Challenge:Discovery
Category:Junior
Region:Peace Country
City:Peace River, AB
School:Glenmary School
Abstract:My experiment compared how grass grew using different types of water: Hot-tub (bromide), public pool (chlorine and salt) and melted snow. I used 2 trays of sod for each type of water. I was interested in seeing whether I could recyle our hot tub water for watering the grass without harming it.
