Biography
My name is Kolten Gagne. I am a 14 year old male who lives in a gold mining area in North-western Ontario. I have two dogs, one is a 9 year old golden retriever named Tia and one is a toy yorkie puppy named Ellie. I love playing Bantam A hockey and going to tournaments throughout Ontario. I also enjoy playing in competitive school sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross country running and track and field. I am a very outdoorsy person as well. I love to hunt, fish, camp, swim, go snowmachining or four wheeling, and hanging out in the bush. I love to travel everywhere and to visit my family. I go camping every summer at Pakwash Provincial Park. Since i was born I have lived with a hearing disability. Although I don't like to refer it as a disability, I prefer to look at it as a challenge. The reason I chose to do this project is to educate people by explaining to them how precious hearing is and how they may be damaging their ears everyday. I will also be demonstrating that it is still possible to prevent any further unnecessary damage.

Abstract:The purpose of this project is to educate how precious our hearing is and how easy a person can damage their ears when listening to sounds too loudly. In today’s society, hearing loss is a growing concern for all ages; especially with technology at our fingertips. One possible solution may be an unsafe listening level warning, perhaps we can make an app for that?
