Biography
My name is Kiarra Iwankow, I live in West Hawk Lake, Manitoba, where I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and dogs. Some of my hobbies are baking, doing puzzles, downhill skiing, paddle boarding, and going for runs. I wanted to do this project because I like doing projects that include plants, and that will also help the environment. Some of my next steps would be to test different additives, grow different types of plants, and grow the roots in wider/longer root farms. Some advice I would give to other students wanting to do a project would be to do it about something they are passionate about, and that you enjoy doing.

Let Your Roots Grow
Challenge:Environment
Category:Junior
Region:Frontier Schools
City:West Hawk Lake, MB
School:Falcon Beach School
Abstract:My project is about finding what additive could help promote root growth. The earth has been getting hotter every year and has been experiencing more severe weather patterns, including droughts. During these droughts, the soil gets very dry but there can still be moisture further down, so I wanted to find an additive that could help roots grow longer to reach the moister soil.
