Biography
My name is Jacob White, and I'm a grade 12 student at HERH, Nova Scotia. I plan to study mathematics next year, with interests in biology, astronomy, and business. I volunteer at my local church, have taken part in fundraisers and events such as WE-DAY, and other international projects, such as education in third world countries. I contribute to local fundraisers. I have participated in over ten extra-curricular groups throughout high school, making it to provincials for badminton, table tennis, and reach for the top. I currently am working on my online business, and I am a very strong advocate for environmental causes. I'm proud that my province is the first in North America to have presumed-consent for organ donation. This project stemmed from my previous project, where I recorded changes in blood pressure and heart rate when individuals were separated from their phone while receiving texts/calls throughout generations. Further investigations on my current project would be to test more specific groups based on more factors such as race or culture. I would also expand my number of participants. Advice I would give to other students? Just do it! Don't be afraid to take the first step.
