Ramaneek - Hi, my name is Ramaneek Gill, I currently attend the Port Credit Secondary school in the Sci-Tech program. I play ice hockey and soccer regularly in leagues and often on school teams. In the future I hope to become an computer engineer or a computer scientist. I've attended the Canada Wide Science Fair in 2010 and 2011.
Edward - My name is Edward Wang and I currently attend the SciTech program at Port Credit S.S. I am a self-motivated, self-directed and independent problem solver. In the future, I hope to become a computer scientist. Some of my hobbies include reading, playing clarinet (being in the Peel Honour band for three years now), and cycling. My technological and computer-related awards including being one of the Grand Prize Winners of the Google Code-In 2012 competition, winning the Gold medal for Virtual Robotics at the Peel Technological Skills Challenges. Previous to these, I have won the Virtual Science fair by being one of the top projects non-stop from 2008 to 2011. During my spare time, I am involved with the VLC media player project and I help develop it (and the upcoming Android port as well), and I have many commits in the repository. My advice for other students is that in the computer science world, problem solving and critical thinking are king. Once you get past the basics of computer science, there will be problems that cannot be solved using a simple Google search. Therefore, one must think and derive a solution that is completely original in order to do well.
