Biography
My name is Quinn Blyth. I am 13 years old and live in Canmore, Alberta and I am in grade 7 at Lawrence Grassi Middle School. This is my third year of participating in the Regional Science Fair but the first time going to the CWSF. My first project, in grade 5, was "Does the Flu Shot Make You Sick?" I won the gold medal for this project. In grade 6, I did a study titled "Should You be Worried About the Ebola Virus?". This year I completed a survey on global warming and won several awards including the chance to attend the CWSF. My favourite subjects are math and science. I am in an advanced math group and excel at all my core subjects. I play the saxophone in the band and also play the piano. I participate in many sports including baseball, basketball, volleyball, skiing, tennis, and soccer. My favourite sport is hockey!. I have made the AA Peewee team two years in a row. I got the inspiration for my project from Quirks and Quarks, a science show on CBC. My advice to other students would be even though it is hard work you learn a lot!!!

Abstract:The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change 2014 Report states that climate change is unequivocal. A survey of Canadian students, grades 4 to 8, was conducted to determine their knowledge of global warming. The results concluded that global warming was thought to be an issue for our planet and would affect future generations by most students. Many identified at least one cause of global warming.
