Biography
My name is Mason Gallagher and I live in Red Lake in Northwestern Ontario. I am an aboriginal youth from the Attawapiskat First Nation. Attawapiskat is around 966km north of Ottawa. I have helped in community events such as the Norseman Festival and the local seniors dinner. Some of my hobbies and interests are playing hockey, soccer, basketball, doing Sudoku puzzles, reading and spending time with my brother. Hockey is my passion. I play hockey in my community as well on a First Nations team. I got my inspiration for my project from another student at the Regionals a few years ago. I plan to do another project next year on outdoor bacteria. The advice I would give to other students that are thinking about doing a project would be "Do something you are really interested in."

Bacteria: What areas of your home are the dirtiest?
Challenge:Discovery
Category:Junior
Region:Sunset Country
City:Red Lake, ON
School:Red Lake Madsen P.S.
Abstract:I studied bacteria in the home because I wanted to learn more about it. Most people clean their toilets because we feel they are dirty, but my compost bucket lid was dirtier then my toilet. I found this project interesting because I learned which area(s) of my home were the dirtiest. Now I know what area(s) to clean better.
