Biography
I love to engage in volunteer work and thus have accumulated many on-going volunteer jobs over the past 3 years; most notably, assistant-coaching a Special Olympics alpine ski team, as well as being a Junior Ski Patrol with the Canadian Ski Patrol System for the past three years. I have a deep passion for the environment, coupled with a love of nature; hiking, biking and skiing are just some of the activities that I frequently enjoy. In the future, I hope to combine these interests with a career in ecology, in addition to performing humanitarian work (I would love to become involved with "doctors without borders").

Abstract:An analysis (by gas chromatography mass spectrometry) of concentrations of ethynylestradiol (EE2) - a persistent/dangerous endocrine disruptor from the contraceptive pill linked to the reproductive mutation of numerous aquatic species – in the N.Saskatchewan River. Samples were collected at various sites in order to evaluate danger posed to the aquatic ecosystem. Methods by which the problem could potentially be alleviated/abolished were also investigated.
