Biography
My name is John and I am 13 years old. I am in Grade 8 at St. Augustine School in Dundas, Ontario. My favourite subjects are math and science. I am an avid photographer and I love to travel. I enjoy soccer and league bowling. I was previously chosen to attend the Ontario Education Leadership Camp. I have also received the Award for Outstanding Achievement for Highest Score in the Gauss Mathematics Competition, and this year received a Director’s Award of Student Excellence. I have participated in Science Fairs since the age of 9, previously winning 3 Gold Medals at System Science Fair and 2 Silver Merit Awards at BASEF. I am looking forward to Canada Wide Science Fair this year in PEI. I encourage everyone to participate in Science Fair and to always choose a topic they are interested in. My inspiration for topics always comes from my surroundings, whether directly or indirectly. My goal is to attend University and study Engineering. I would like to thank the BASEF Committee for the opportunity of attending CWSF and the trip chaperones for their dedication and time.

Does H2O2 Grow Too?
Challenge:Environment
Category:Junior
Region:Bay Area
City:Dundas, ON
School:St. Augustine E.S.
Abstract:This experiment tested the theory that using H2O2 in the garden is not only better for the environment as compared to fertilizer, but would also benefit the plant’s growth and health. Ten bean seeds were exposed to water, various concentrations of H2O2 and liquid fertilizer. The plant exposed to the highest concentration of H2O2 outperformed all other plants.
