Biographie
Science fair has been an integral part of our lives for the past seven years. In graduating from high school this year we also bid ado to competing at these fairs. Science fair has provided us with the opportunities to learn and grow as individuals. We have learned that in order for there to be positive change in the world, we must take a stance and be leaders of this change. The experiences associated with attending five national and one international science fair have taught us to take our words and turn them into actions. By changing the way we look at the world today, we can make a better world for tomorrow. Everybody dreams. But, not everybody will act on their dreams. Our dreams become our reality when we take our burning questions and curiosities, turn them into actions, and never stop growing as individuals. We are not afraid to step out of our comfort zone, ask questions, and seek answers. In closing, we would like to thank all the role models, mentors, and financial supporters throughout the years. For without their financial support, recognition, and time none of our experiences would have been possible.

Triclosan: Double Danger Take 2
Défi:Environnement
Catégorie:Sénior
Région:Kiwanis Southeast Alberta
Ville:Medicine Hat, AB
École:McCoy High School
Sommaire:We investigated the effect of the chemical Triclosan causing or contributing to antibacterial and antibiotic resistance. Over three months we induced Triclosan resistance and in turn antibiotic resistance in all susceptible bacteria. Concentrations of exposure were based on detected concentrations of Triclosan in water samples. Our results reflect what could be happening in nature where Triclosan contamination occurs.
