| I am Andre Morin from the Golden Learning Centre in the rural community of Red Lake, Northwestern Ontario. I like school a lot and challenge myself to do my best. My favourite subject is math. A proud moment for me was winning a regional public speaking contest. Sports is an important part of my life as well. In Thunder Bay last year, I achieved my personal best at the Mid-Canada cross country race coming in third. I enjoy playing soccer, basketball, volleyball, and doing parkour, as well as swimming in the Bronze series in order to become a lifeguard. Within my community, I help coach local youth soccer and Little Rocks Curling. I have always loved the television show ‘Brain Games’ so the inspiration for my science fair project was my keen interest in cognitive psychology. I plan to study medicine to eventually become a brain surgeon or a neurologist, so I will to continue to explore and learn more about how our amazing brain works in order to further my educational and career goals. My advice to anyone participating in any science fair would be to investigate a topic that interests you so that your research is truly enjoyable! |

Colour Confusion - The Stroop Effect

Stroop Effect Tests: congruent and incongruent word/colour naming, along with controls in colour identification, reading and reaction tests, measured 74 men and women between the ages of 4 and 80 years. My results show that adults in the age category of 30-50 years process incongruent information with the least difficulty. |
