Cassie - My name is Cassie Eggleton and I was born and raised in Scarborough, which is part of the GTA, in Ontario. I love living so close to downtown Toronto because cities are so alive with life and culture. I see myself as a very unique individual because I can care about wearing the perfect black patent pumps making sure my hair is in place, and winning a science fair, all at once. My first year doing science fairs, I won a bronze, my second a silver, and this year my third I finally got gold. I proved to myself and others that if you really want something you can do it. I am a very creative individuals even if sometimes I apply that creativity to science. I always have the need to express myself and I do that through many different avenues. Film and movies are something that I could not live without. You can always find me watching movies or television because I am enchanted with every aspect of film, no matter the genre. I also love photography, music, sleeping, hanging out with friends, laughing, sleeping some more, eating, cooking, and putting off doing my homework and chores.
Stephanie - Other activities I joined with the school are badminton and band. I currently play on the team and am going to OFSAA, for girls' doubles one week before going to Nova Scotia. In school, I also play in the Junior Stage Band, Intermediate Concert Band, Senior Stage Band, and Senior Concert Band. Besides the school band, I also play piano and flute in my spare time. Right now, I am studying ARCT for piano and grade 10 flute. I have also played in several competitions, earning different awards. I am currently not involved in many community activities. However, I want to find a kids' camp I could do my volunteer hours at becuase I love kids. This is my second year participating in the Toronto Sci-Tech Fair, but only the first in which I get to attend the CWSF. For post-secondary education, I do not know exactly what I want to major in, but I will probably end up going into sciences or math. Although music might be my strongest subject in school, I feel like I only want to play it for leisure, and not as a career.

Left? Right? Or Balanced?: The Effects and Applications of Cerebral Dominance
Division:Life Sciences / None
Category:Intermediate
Region:Toronto
City:Toronto, ON
School:Francis Libermann C.S.S.
Abstract:Can one side of the brain lead the other? Can this dominance affect your education and personality? Cerebral dominance can and does affect every aspect of an individual’s life. By analysing previous studies and creating our own, we were able to prove our hypothesis. Cerebral dominance and its effects can be tested, and this information can be analysed to find real world applications.
