Biographie
My name is Olivia Cerilli and I am a grade seven student at Canadian Martyrs Catholic School located in Burlington, Ontario. In my spare time I play with my dog Zoe or play video games, one of which being a really great wolf simulator called “Wolf Quest” which helped me discover my project idea. Wolves are my favourite animal and I have learned so much about them my friends insist I must be part wolf by now. My dream is to visit Yellowstone National Park and hear or even better see the wolves. I play no sports but I am enrolled in the Burlington Sea Cadets, an organization used to teach today’s youth about the navy. I love Cadets and have made so many friends there. In school our teacher challenged us to do a “long-term project” and one option was science fair. I jumped at the chance because I love science, especially animal science. While playing Wolf Quest I stumbled upon the sponsors for the game, one being the “International Wolf Center”. I visited the website and soon found the wolf telemetry data that gave me my project idea. I am really excited to attend CWSF.

Sommaire:This project is about tracking wolves, which are a keystone species. I decided to track three wolves in a pack using radio telemetry data from an online database. When I started I hoped to find out if age, gender, or season affected the wolves’ travels. I used a website and map provided by the International Wolf Center to plot the data and analyze it.
