Abstract:This project determined the effects of various drugs on Daphnia heart rate. Upon exposure to six different drug solutions, changes in heart rate were monitored. Results showed that caffeine and adrenaline acted as stimulants, while alcohol, aspirin, and lactic acid were depressants. Nicotine suppressed the heart rate altogether.
