Biographie
I am a grade 8 student at Turnbull School. I love music, reading and water sports. Both of my brothers live in Toronto for university. I often Skype them when we have family reunion or similar gatherings and I often carry the Laptop they are skyping to around the room or the house to show them various people and things. This is a bit of a nuisance, however, and I thought it would be a much more natural experience if they could remotely control their location from the other end of the Skype call. This is what gave me the inspiration for my project. In the future, to extend my project, I would try to improve the robot to make it a more suitable product given that this is simply a prototype. For other students, I would recommend doing a science fair on something that you are passionate about, something you love, because it will make the entire experience more enjoyable and the presentation better if you are enthusiastic. For example, I love engineering and that made this project that much more enjoyable.

Sommaire:For my project, I was trying to enhance the Skype experience by adding the dimension of mobility. I was able to remotely control the location of a Lego Mindstorms robot from the other end of the Skype call by sending DTMF codes over the Skype audio and hooking up the sensors of the robot to a DTMF decoder circuit.
