Biographies
Nicole - I am a grade 10 student from Hanna, Alberta. I live on a farm with my parents and brother. I also have two older sisters who have left home and are attending University. One of my main interests is animals and I spend a lot of time working with our dogs and horses. I love training animals and I am currently halter training a baby buffalo which is proving to be quite a challenge! In the winter I volunteer as an assistant coach for our junior curling program and I also curl competitively on a High School girls curling team. I am a volunteer for our local Ducks Unlimited Chapter in Hanna and a strong believer in wildlife conservation. Several years ago I became very sick after experiencing unknown exposure to hidden mould in my home. This experience was the catalyst for further research and project development on the issue of mould and hidden mould in homes with an emphasis on known and suspected health related symptoms to mould exposure. My research has inspired me to choose a future career in microbiology. I am a past competitor at CWSF and I think it is the experience of a lifetime!
Maddie - I am a grade 10 student in Hanna, Alberta. I am involved in basketball and beef 4H. I would love to be a news reporter when I grow up because I want to be on TV. I love being the center of attention which is also why I am a very good public speaker.
