Abstract:This project investigated which combination of fuel core diameter and nozzle diameter propelled a model rocket the highest. I launched home-made rockets verticallly and measured airtimes. A home-made force tester measured force per time of three rockets. Rockets having having small nozzles and small fuel cores had the longest airtimes. The force tests showed that air friction is a major factor affecting rocket performance.
