| Alexander Salterio is a grade 8 student at Maplecrest-Sempar School in Kingston, Ontario. Alexander has a keen interest in history and science and won school awards in both subjects. In school, Alexander enjoys being in the school play, helping with the yearbook, and participating in track and field. He is active in Scouts, baseball, and church. He has been a water boy for the Vanier Cup winning Queen’s University Golden Gaels football team for two years. Alexander is an avid reader and enjoys listening to classic rock-n-roll. Alexander has lived in three provinces and in the United States. In addition, he has traveled extensively, including a two-week history and art tour of Berlin, Germany. Alexander is considering a career in history, accounting, biology, or, possibly, in major league baseball. |

The comparison groups were neurotypical youth and those with Autism/Asperger’s Syndrome. Survey results showed neurotypical youth more easily recognized lying and non-verbal cues. The neurotypical group was more likely to recognize people might interpret cues differently. The Asperger’s group saw social interactions as a learned activity. |
