My name is Nichole van Dyk and I am a grade 9 student at North Queens Rural High School in Caledonia, Queens County. I am an active senior member of my local 4H club participating in English and Western Light Horse, Scrapbooking, Cake decorating and junior leader. I also hold the office of club secretary. I am very involved in my school community as well, holding the office of vice president of student council for junior high, member of the Students for Social Justice group and participate in x-country running, volleyball, Senior girls basketball, track and field and Senior girls softball. I am an active member of the Maritime Barrel Racing Association participating in both barrel and pole bending events. I spend my summers working with our family wild blueberry harvesting crew and doing what I enjoy most, showing my horse. |

I created an all natural, nutritious, value- added blueberry horse treat from blueberry pomace produced as a by-product at vanDyk Health Juice. Creating this value added product, pomace was modified and enhanced to produce a product with a higher market value. |
