Biographie
Mackenzie Finch is a grade eight student who is on both the Principals and Diligence lists at Coquihalla Middle School in Merritt, British Columbia. At present time Mackenzie is a setter for the Merritt Volleyball Club. She dances twice a week taking five different types of dance including Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Contempary and Jazz. In her spare time Mackenzie enjoys riding her motorcycle, reading and hanging out with her friends. Although small, Mackenzie is also playing Rugby for the MSS Panthers and will be traveling to Fiji with the team in 2011. Some of her accomplishments include: Gold Medal at the Regional Science Fair (2009 and 2010), top Junior Award (2009), Chevron Environmental Award (2010), the SCWIST Award (2010), the Environmental BC Award (2010) and a Fine Arts Award (2008). Mackenzie is still interested in pursuing a career in Marine Mammal Biologist but is also looking at the possibility of a career in Forensic Science. However, before all of this she would like to experience Broadway and to see where her dancing might take her.

Carbon: A Solution for Water Pollution, Part Two

Sommaire:This project investigates the ability of Carbon to filter out pollutants in a running river system in order that the water quality maintains a healthy level. The testing of dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH, total dissolved solids and water temperature was conducted on both Carbon filtered and non Carbon filtered samples. The results showed that Carbon did not clean the pollutants from each river system.
