Abstract:Airborne wind turbines are non-towered free floating turbines, grounded via a tether. Literature review revealed development of two groups of airborne wind turbines. Eight innovative variants were built and the electricity generated was measured controlling for variables including turbine height, blade size, number of turbines, presence or absence of vanes, and wind speed.
