Biographie
As a grade nine student at Smithers Secondary School, my activities have included: Leadership, Youth for a Better World, the school musical, cross-country running, and playing clarinet in Junior Concert Band. I love living in Telkwa, a picturesque little town near Smithers; 1300 kilometres northwest of Vancouver. I enjoy swimming and I have earned my Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross. I always look forward to attending horse camp, and fly fishing for Sockeye Salmon, each summer. I recently donated ten inches of my hair to be made into wigs for cancer patients. My other interests include reading, cooking, spoiling my pets, and I am passionate about protecting the environment. I always try to think of science fair projects that will have a positive impact for the earth. I have competed in my regional science fair six times. This year my project won: Best Intermediate Project, and the Calderwood Special Effort, SCWIST, and B.C.I.C. awards. I was honoured to win a Bronze medal at CWSF last year. I had an absolutely amazing time, and I am so glad I have the chance to attend CWSF again. I am planning to pursue a career in either Veterinary Medicine or Environmental Science.

Water Reuse = Water To Use

Ville:Telkwa, BC

Sommaire:My invention is a system to conserve water by filtering and reusing greywater, from bathroom shower and sink drains, to flush toilets. My environmentally-friendly filter was inspired by nature's example of water flowing through layers of rock and sand; I was determined not to use any energy or chemicals to clean the water. I built a model and found my system works very efficiently.
