Biography
Kyle Potts is a 13-year-old student in grade 8. He enjoys playing hockey, baseball, and basketball. He likes to swim, play guitar and do karate. He is inquisitive and fascinated by science and technology. He is involved at his school by participating in Free The Children, Safety Patrol, Office Monitor and is a Grade One Helper. He enjoys reading and has been on the Battle of the Books team for 4 years. He likes to play Rock Band, video games and create animation on the computer. One day he hopes to pursue a career in science or computers.

Abstract:This project studied how to vacuum form plastic parts. The project investigated different types of plastics, thicknesses of plastics and different amounts of sag to create plastic hats using a home- designed vacuum forming table and mold. Reused 1L pop bottles were the intended source of plastic for this project, but 1mm PETG plastic made the best hats.
