Karma Hamilton is a 13-year-old girl who lives on a farm in BC with her Mom, Dad, two brothers, dog, cat, chickens, pigeon, and ducks. Karma can often be found reading, dancing at the local dance studio, playing baseball, babysitting, hunting, fishing, doing origami, or planting trees with her Dad. She rides the bus to and from a French immersion school where she is in leadership and basketball. She won gold at the Northern BC Regional Science Fair. As well of being the winner of the BC Hydro Power Pioneer award and the Vibrant Communities Senior Award. Karma was inspired to start her project when she first started talking to her dad about how half of Canada’s energy production also creates pollution at the same time. She plans on improving her project until it meets it meets it full potential which means applying her innovation to the front of her house. For any one interested in doing a Science project, Karma’s advice would be “do something you’re interested in, even if it’s a old problem find a new solution”. |
| Karma Hamilton Solar Siding: Harnessing the power of T.E.G’s
Défi: | Énergie | Catégorie: | Junior | Région: | Northern British Columbia | Ville: | Rolla, BC | École: | Ecole Frank Ross Elementary | Sommaire: | I was inspired to do my project when I saw an ecofan. I thought I could create electricity using thermalelectric generators, (T.E.G.'s) and the sun. I made a model and placed it outside. I found out its possible to create electricity using T.E.G.'s. Once the electricity is harnessed it could be applied to household use. |
