I am a grade seven student at Bert Bowes Middle School and I have lived in Fort St. John my whole life. My favourite subject is science. In science I love chemistry and robotics. Science Fair became part of my life at a very young age. I started at the age of six and have done a variety of projects-erosion, solar sluice box, gold mining, rocks and minerals. At our regional science fair, I received 3 awards for the project that I am bringing to CWSF-a robot that will carry a monitor to a well site to detect levels of H2S and hopefully save lives. I am very excited to be attending the CWSF with my brother, who also has a project, while hoping to attend again in the future. I love hunting with my brother and my dad for sheep and deer; I recently shot a deer that scored 170. I play the drums in the school band and I love playing rock music. My favourite music is dub-step, 80’s rock and pop. My favourite band is Guns n Roses. At school I like to hang out with my friends as well as play sports-basketball, ping-pong, badminton, soccer, bowling. |
| Jesse Plamondon The EZ B Controlled Rover 5 Robot for Detecting H2S

Using a computer and a wireless blue-tooth adapter, I did several basic tests. Each of these tests were done six times and were five meters in length. I wanted to develop this robot so that oil/gas industry workers wouldn't be harmed when entering area with this dangerous gas. |
